Travis Buoy serves as an Assistant Vice President with Old Second Bank’s Wealth Management Group. Travis is responsible for management of security and asset allocation models, evaluation of mutual funds managers, research on individual stocks and ETFs, and provides weekly commentary of financial markets via a newsletter. Travis earned a Master of Science degree in Finance from the Northern Illinois University as well as a Master of Business Administration degree. He is a holder of the FINRA 65 license and Microsoft Expert Excel certification.
Mike is a Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager with Old Second National Bank’s Wealth Management Group. With more than 30 years of investment experience, Mike co-manages the Fixed Income Common Trust Fund and manages major institutional accounts as well as individual accounts.
Mike earned a B.A. in Economics from Marquette University and an M.A. in Economics from DePaul University. Mike was also an Economics instructor at Moraine Valley Community College. He has the designations Charted Financial Analyst® and Certified Financial Planner™ professional.
Richard A. Gartelmann Jr. currently manages the Bank’s Wealth Management Division. With more than 20 years of trust and investment experience, Rich co-manages the Equity Common Trust Fund and the Fixed Income Common Trust Fund, co-manages major institutional accounts, and manages individual accounts.
Rich is a Certified Financial Planner™ professional. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Governor’s State University, a Master of Business Administration from St. Xavier University, and has attended Cannon Trust School.
Rich lives in Frankfort with his wife Kathleen and his two sons. He is an avid golfer and loves to travel with his family and attend sporting events. He is also currently a board member of the Lincoln-Way High School District 210 Foundation Board.
Edward J. Gorenz is a Vice President and Trust Officer with Old Second Bank’s Wealth Management Group. With over 32 years of trust and investment experience, Ed manages personal trust and estate administration relationships and is a member of several Wealth Management committees including Real Estate, Trust Administration, Discretionary Distribution, and Trust Investment.
Ed earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois and a Master of Science degree in Finance from Northern Illinois University. He also attended Northwestern University’s National Trust School and Southern Illinois University’s Illinois Banking School.
Brian is a Chartered Retirement Plan Specialist with more than 30 years of Retirement Plan consulting experience. At Old Second, Brian is responsible for consulting, servicing and support of client retirement plans.
Prior to joining Old Second National Bank, Brian served as a retirement consultant in the banking industry for more than 10 years. He has also served as a retirement plan consultant in the insurance and brokerage industries as well, including ten years working for Charles Schwab.
Brian is a graduate of the University of Illinois and holds an MBA from DePaul University and a Master's in Management and Organizational Behavior from Benedictine University.
Brad Johnson serves as a Vice President and Senior Investment Officer with Old Second National Bank’s Wealth Management Group. With more than 10 years of financial industry experience, Brad comanages the Equity Common Trust Fund, co-manages major institutional accounts and manages individual accounts.
Brad earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign as well as a Master of Science in Finance degree also from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He is a holder of the FINRA 65 license and has the designations Chartered Financial Analyst® and Certified Financial Planner™ professional.
Brad serves his community as a member of the Board of Directors for the Sunnymere Senior Living Community.
Chris serves as Senior Vice President and Senior Wealth Advisor with nearly two decades of experience in investment services. His career path has been marked by significant roles such as Senior Portfolio Manager and Chief Investment Officer, showcasing his expertise in managing complex financial portfolios. A standout aspect of Chris's career is his focus on behavioral finance, which he has deepened through certifications in Applied Behavioral Finance from UCLA and the Cannon Financial Institute. This unique perspective allows him to understand and influence client behaviors, leading to more effective financial strategies. Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts from Beloit College and further honed his skills by obtaining the Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) and Accredited Fiduciary Investment Manager (AFIM) designations. Beyond his professional achievements, Chris is dedicated to giving back to the community. He serves as a board member for the March of Dimes (Chicago Division), contributing to vital health initiatives for moms and babies. Additionally, Chris is involved with Hersey Feeder Youth Sports, supporting the development of young athletes. Chris is married with two children and loves to play golf and coach.
Amy Lynch serves as a Vice President and Wealth Advisor with Old Second National Bank’s Wealth Management Group. She collaborates with investment officers as well as wealth advisors to provide personalized investment management and financial planning services. She assists in the preparation of customized comprehensive financial plans and portfolios, as well as provides administrative support to clients.
Ms. Lynch earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance Degree from Governors State University. She is a holder of the FINRA 65 license and is currently working to obtain the CFP® designation to further broaden her planning and investment knowledge.
John T. Matejcak’s professional experience includes involvement in private law practice and fiduciary services. While in private law practice, he counseled individuals and families in the creation of customized estate plans including business succession planning, philanthropic planning, and real estate. John also represented individuals and corporate fiduciaries in the administration of trusts and estates. John’s fiduciary services experience includes trust and estate settlement and administration, as well as private client, wealth planning and strategy, and private wealth management services, both at community banks and while at a large national bank in the Office of the Chief Fiduciary.
John earned his Bachelor of Science in Management from Purdue University, and his Juris Doctor from Hamline University School of Law. John is admitted to practice law in the State of Illinois.
Steve has more than 20 years of investment experience managing investments for trust clients, high-net-worth individuals and institutional relationships. He manages the Investment Team that is responsible for our investment strategy, market research, security analysis, and portfolio management. He also manages client portfolios and co-manages the Equity and Fixed Income Common Trust funds.
Steve has a B.B.A. in Finance, Investments & Banking and a B.A. in Economics from University of Wisconsin – Madison. He also has an M.B.A. from University of Chicago Booth School of Business and is a Chartered Financial Analyst®.
Steve is a member of the CFA Society of Chicago and of the CFA Society of Milwaukee.
Joe joined the Wealth Management Division at Old Second National Bank in December, 2021 and has over 30 years of Trust experience in serving as Account Manager for Defined Contribution relationships. At Old Second, Joe is responsible for the sales, marketing support and servicing of client retirement plans.
Prior to joining Old Second National Bank, Joe spent 21 years at First Midwest servicing over 65 defined contribution relationships, various IRA’s and other client investment accounts. At First Midwest Bank Joe coordinated the implementation of a Pooled Employer Plan (PEP) which provided administrative efficiencies and lower plan costs for many of his defined contribution plan client relationships.
Previous experience includes 3 years as an Employee Benefit Consultant with William M. Mercer as relationship manager for employee benefit plans averaging over 5,000 participants and 10 years at La Salle National Bank as a Trust Officer. Joe has successfully completed the Defined Contribution course of study administered by the American Society of Pension Actuaries (ASPA) and is a graduate of St. Xavier University in Chicago.
Michele A. Morgan brings over 30 years of trust experience to Old Second. From simple to complex Estate and Trust Administration, clients can trust that their financial matters will be handled in an efficient and expert manner. Michele also possesses expertise in the administration of OBRAs, Guardianships, and Third Party Funded Special Needs Trusts.
Michele has achieved the Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) designation from the Institute of Certified Bankers. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management, with honors, from Benedictine University.
Michele is a past president and member of the Fox Valley Estate Planning Council, and Secretary of the DuPage Estate Planning Council. Michele also serves on the Board of Directors of Sunnymere, Inc. a senior living community in Aurora, IL.
Anna Motyka joined Old Second National Bank in 2024. Anna brings over 24 years of banking and corporate experience in administering a wide range of institutional, individual trust accounts, estates, investment management, custody and IRAs.
Prior to joining Old Second National Bank, Anna’s experience includes working in trust administration and client relationship management at a community bank as well as working as an Institutional Trust Officer providing service as a Client Service Coordinator specializing in Institutional Trust and Retirement Plan Services (Public Pension Funds, 401(k), Profit Sharing, IRAs), at a national bank.
Anna received her Bachelor of Science degree in management and business from the Higher School of Business in Poland and her Bachelor of Art in business administration from National Louis University of Chicago. She has been a Certified IRA Services Professional (CISP) since 2005. Member of the DuPage County Estate Planning Council.
Andy Roche brings over 25 years of trust experience to Old Second. In addition to his roles as Senior Vice President and Trust Officer, he also oversees taxes, trust operations and is the department’s IRA expert.
Roche earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting with a Business Minor from St. Joseph’s College and a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from Benedictine University. He is also a graduate of National Graduate Trust School at Northwestern University, a graduate of DePaul Financial Planning Certificate, is a CPA, CFP®, and holds a FINRA Series 65 License.

Volkert is a graduate of Rockfort Business College, attended Bradley University, is a graduate of the Trust School from the University of Wisconsin and National Graduate Trust School at Northwestern University where she received her Certified Trust Financial Advisor (CTFA).
